Out Now! Sal Miak - Traci

Dr. Sal Miak, born in a Polish village, grew up in an old farmhouse surrounded by dilapidated barns.
Sal was the youngest of 6 children. Together with his brothers and sisters he played in the barns every single day. There was plenty to discover, from dirty slag, old machines, jars stuffed animals to mountains with dust. When Sal grew older, he found out he was gifted. Where normal little boys of his age played football in the village or the peasant, Sal did other things...he explored the boundaries of what electronic dance music has to offer.

Discover the borders of "Traci" yourself, the track is a figment of our newest artist on board we hope everyone will enjoy. Listen, explore and judge...

Sal Miak - Traci is out from today on Can You Feel It Records and available at Beatport and all other online music retailers.

DENIZ KOYU's "RAGE" out now!

After having kicked off 2013 with the much acclaimed collaboration "Halo" with fellow producer Dirty South, Deniz Koyu is returning to Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune label with the follow-up to last year’s festival favourite "Bong".

Anticipation for new single "Rage" has been building since last year, with Swedish House Mafia supporting the track during their "One Last Tour" performances, and is destined to be another future anthem from Koyu. Bringing his trademark energy and precision in abundance, "Rage" is a dynamic peak time production. True to its name, a feverish build up unfurls in a burst of pounding drums and heavyweight synth riffs, which spiral upwards through the track to keep energy levels high throughout.

2012 was Koyu's biggest year yet as he continues to rise through the ranks of dance music on a wave of high quality releases and high-energy performances. Coming off the back of the Generation Wild Tour and two lauded performances at Ultra Music Festival, the new single is a confident statement that 2013 will be even bigger for Deniz Koyu.

Morgan Page and Nadia Ali - Carry Me

CARRY ME...TO THE DANCEFLOOR!
Check out the stunning results of Morgan Page and Nadia Ali's second sojourn to the studio

The inexorable Morgan Page returns this week with the fourth single from his star-studded studio album In The Air. The track, called Carry Me, is an original release created in collaboration with renowned songstress, Nadia Ali.

The twosome have worked together once before with fierce results when the LA-based producer remixed Nadia Ali's track Fantasy back in 2011. The result garnered international critical acclaim and earned Page a Grammy nomination in the Best Remix category.

Stepping into the studio for round two, the pair found they were quickly able to rekindle their initial chemistry. Carry Me shows these two EDM stars at their brightest, combining rock-solid songwriting with Nadia Ali's distinctive, sultry vocals. The result is a dynamic and powerful crossover track that fuses the best of pop and house elements and manages to convey genuine romanticism. The MTV Buzzworthy Blog congratulated the artists on the track's "gorgeous production" and "gorgeous vocals," calling it a stunning success for both parties involved.

Remixes comes from Dyro and from Nilson & The 8th Note. Dyro gets straight to the point and doesn't fail to impress with some razor-sharp electro straight to the gut. Nilson & The 8th Note keep it classic with a compelling big room rework that is bound to be a serious crowd pleaser.

Carry Me continues with the album's theme of explosive collaborations with an intriguing array of international talent. Previously Morgan Page joined forces with Sultan, Ned Shepard, BT and Angela McCluskey on title track In The Air, a track which earned him his first #1 hit on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart. He also partnered up with indie darling twins Tegan & Sara on Bodywork, a track that went Gold and was a top 20 single in their home country of Canada. His previous single, Where Did You Go, called upon Andy Caldwell and Jonathan Mendelsohn to serve up an addictive urban dance hit.

Morgan Page toured extensively with the album in 2012 with an impactful show that featured many special guests off the album, appearing at Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo amongst others. He also continues to spin the best in new progressive and electro house for audiences in over a dozen countries worldwide via his BPM show on Sirius XM and has remixed tracks for Katy Perry, Madonna, Underworld, Coldplay and many more.

Carry Me is already making big steps in the Beatport charts. Nilson & The 8th Note's remix of Carry Me has entered the #42 spot in the Progressive Chart and Dyro's remix entered the #62 spot in the Electro House Chart.

Morgan Page and Nadia Ali - Carry Me is officially out from today on Nettwerk and available via Beatport, iTunes and at all other online music retailers.

Michel de Hey vs Rauwkost - Just a Matter of Time

After Michel de Hey and Rauwkost their successful collab Bluetrain, played by a.o. Sven Väth & Mathias Kaden, it's time for their first 2013 release. The track "Just a Matter of Time" already archived a little history. Michel played the rough version on Timewarp in December 2012 and it was one of the most sought after tracks of his set. After fine-tuning "Just a Matter of Time", a new creative film collective in Holland called IFAN heard the track and were so impressed, that they suggested to make a video for the release. The result is not even a video, but more a short film about a man who just has a little time left on this planet - you can check it out here! Too bad we just missed the Oscars for this!

Furthermore you can find a great remix by HEY!'s new signing Don Ruijgrok on the release. His remix puts an even bigger sound to the track and promises a lot for his upcoming releases on HEY! To top things, there is "Full of Snuif" which is more in the style of Gimme Some, one of the best selling tracks on HEY! in 2012. Enjoy and do not forget to watch the video!

Michel de Hey vs Rauwkost - Just a Matter of Time is out from today on HEY! and available at Beatport and all other online music retailers.

Exclusive Interview with Pieter Steijger

Born in The Netherlands in 1989, Pieter Steijger is a DJ / Producer, and label boss. With a passion for music at a very young age, Pieter first had his taste of the decks at the tender age of 13.

He founded Frameworx Music in 2008, releasing his own work plus that of his duo partner Sander Young. He released his first album Luminosity on his birthday - 14/2/13.

  • Hi Pieter, thank you for taking the time to do this...I would like to start by asking you what is your earliest memory of music, and can you remember how it made you feel?
When I was a kid and I was playing (most of the time with Lego), my dad used to play music from Kraftwerk. I was so impressed by those electronic sounds. It was an amazing feeling. Ever since that moment, music has always been a part of my life. Not much later I started playing the drums, and I took piano lessons. Eventually I started to make my own music.
  • Who has been your biggest influence throughout your life?
I think that Carl Craig should deserve that compliment. His musicality, sound and technical knowledge inspires me a lot. I also got my influences from artists like Kevin Saunderson (Inner City), Derrick May, Kenny Larkin, Pink Floyd, Underworld, Dubfire, Sasha, MGMT, Richie Hawtin, Paul Kalkbrenner, Booka Shade, Deetron, etcetera.
  • If you could work with anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?
I don't know. Of course Carl Craig would be very educational to work with. He is a musical magician. But I think it would be also very cool to add some Techno influences to a band or artist like the Editors or Kanye West
  • How would you best describe the atmosphere in the studio when you and Sander get together?
Most of the time I work solo on projects. If you are alone and you've been working for hours on a track, it's good to have somebody that provides you a new perspective and input on your creations. When Sander enters the studio he notices things I didn't hear yet or he provides some input that takes the track to another dimension. When we work together on a project, we complete each other which results in awesome tracks and in new ways of creativity.
  • If music was never an option as a career to you which profession do you think you may have chosen?
I think I would become a (Dutch) designer. Or I would get a career as manager of a band or DJ.
  • Who is your favorite singer/band to listen to right now, and do you get chance to go to see your fave act perform on stage at any time?
Actually I don't have ‘one’ favourite act. Nowadays, I listen a lot to the Editors, Errors, Nosaj Thing, When Saints Go Machine, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Nicolas Jaar, Paul Kalkbrenner, etcetera. So I try to see them whenever I get the chance.
  • And finally Pieter, if you could give one piece of advice to someone who wanted to start out as a DJ, what would it be?
Just create your own music. Invest in a quality workflow that will foster your creativity. Be inspired by the artists and movies you like and of course by your own background and environment. Don't start with it for the wrong reasons like money, women, or fame. And focus...

Editors Note: Thank you Pieter for this great insight to your life. I wish you the best for 2013 and beyond.
