Funkerman - Blow

FUNKERMAN - BLOW

Funkerman does 2012 in style with the release of his first breathtaking new single of the year. Blow, out now on Flamingo Recordings, is a beautifully produced piece of spacey electro-house that rightfully belongs in the bags of discerning DJs everywhere. The track already received massive support from the media and colleague DJ's and entered the #4 spot in UK's Buzz Chart, "Now this is special, loving the swinging triplet vibe and hypnotic rhythms. One of the stand-out tracks of 2012!"
In typical Funkerman style, Blow is an exciting change in creative direction. The sound on this record feels insanely fresh, showing this star to be a true musical chameleon with an uncanny ability to keep his output relevant.
Blow contains some obvious nods to the French electro scene and has a slight Tron-era Daft Punk feel to it. Distorted broken chords lollop pleasantly upwards over a driving bassline, giving the track a lush, dreamy feel.
The classic progressive structure keeps it tight and exciting. The centrepiece is a stunning breakdown that begins at around two and a half minutes. Scaling the layers right back to the sparsest of elements, Funkerman proceeds to tease and taunt for a full two minutes, building slowly but unswervingly towards a ridiculous climax.
Alongside the full length track comes a top-notch radio edit. Simply stated, the whole package is a must-buy. It's a super accessible and instantly loveable tune that is versatile enough to drop into a wide variety of sets.

Alongside the release of Blow, Funkerman is announcing a new creative partnership with visual artist Rutger Termohlen. An amazing pictorial storyteller, Termohlen puts pen to paper to create vast, intricate environments where animals roam freely. He previously worked with Funkerman on the striking video for the track Remember and moving forward from here Termohlen will be creating exclusive artwork for him.
Funkerman - Blow is out from 6th Feb on Flamingo Recordings and exclusively available on iTunes and www.beatport.com. The track will be available on all other online retailers from February 20th.

Introducing DJ Manic

Bio

New York native DJ Manic’s passion for music and natural ability to DJ, began long before he was of legal age. As a young boy he was inspired to pursue the Music & DJ industry while spending his free time at his uncle’s entertainment company. As Manic grew older, he was determined to take his DJ skills to the next level. He was so drawn to this profession, the only place you could find him was analyzing music, mixing and refining his art. It only took a few club appearances for him to earn his nickname: "Manic". The name Manic describes him well because of his unique style: combining a blend of skill, ability to read the dance floor and dynamically control the energy. His particular taste in music allows him to be diverse, exciting and on the cutting edge.
As co-producer of the song “Never Ending” along with Ronnie Ventura and Alan Scott Plotkin "Seven" featuring Latrice Verrett, it debuted at "Hot Shot Breakout" ( #31) on the Billboard Dance charts. Ten weeks strong on the charts, “Never Ending” climbed to #25. Manic once again teamed up with Ventura and Seven to co-produce other hits including, “The Freaks” featuring Latrice Verrett and “Music Is Your Life” feat. Dana Devine both which were signed and released on Nuuf Music.  Manic and Seven's recent project gave them the opportunity of working with one of the pioneers of the House Music world, Todd Terry. "Sunshine" featuring Lisa Pure, released on InHouse Records July 2011.
With influences from Danny Tenaglia, Sandy Rivera, Dennis Ferrer, Satoshi Tomiie, Louie Vega, David Morales, and Erick Morillo, Manic's DJ sets take the listener on a musical journey through deep and minimal to tribal and vocal house with latin and percussive Afro elements that are guaranteed to make the dance floor groove in perfect unity. Manic has been privileged to share stages with many international stars including: Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Hector Romero, Anane Vega, Benji Candelario, Hex Hector, Richie Santana, Peter Bailey, Masi & Mello, Chris Moody, Todd Gardner, and many others.
Creating, crafting and refining his music everyday, is Manic's drive and soul. Manic still remains close to his performance roots by making regular cameo appearances at some of the worlds most prestigious clubs.
