DUTCH DJ HARDWELL REACHES #6 POSITION IN THE DJ MAG TOP 100

DUTCH DJ HARDWELL REACHES #6 POSITION IN THE DJ MAG TOP 100

24 year old Dutch DJ, Hardwell, has reached the #6 position in the world's most famous DJ list, The DJMag Top 100.

The ranking, announced at the DJ Mag Top 100 Awards Show last night during the Amsterdam Dance Event, makes him one of the chart's fastest climbers ever. Last year he entered the industry-defining list for the first time in the well-deserved #24 spot.

Hardwell said, "I seriously never expected to get into the top 10 of the DJMag Top 100. I am so thrilled and excited! I really want to thank all my fans for voting. I'm incredibly grateful to have so many people supporting me, so a big shout out to all of you, THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

The extraordinary DJ and producer, better known as Robbert van de Corput, has become one of the most distinguished artists to watch in recent years. His track 'Spaceman' topped the dance charts worldwide and became one of the most played tracks of the year. He has collaborated with Tiësto resulting in the hit record 'Zero 76' and has done remixes for the likes of Rihanna and Taio Cruz.

Hardwell also manages his own record label, 'Revealed Recordings,' runs an eponymous label night, 'Hardwell presents Revealed' and host a very successful radio show and podcast, 'Hardwell On Air'. This show is broadcasted on 30 FM radio stations worldwide and has millions of listeners. The official Podcast for his show has been released last month and holds a strong position in the top 10 most downloaded Podcasts on iTunes in over 40 countries.

With performances all over the world from Sydney to Miami and Ibiza to London and headlining practically every major festival worldwide including Electronic Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas), Ultra Music Festival (Miami) and Tomorrowland. It is clear that Hardwell's hard work has paid off and got him this exceptional #6 spot in the DJMag Top 100 list.

Where is Sidney Samson?

When I hear the name Sidney Samson I think of that phenomenal choon Riverside which blasted its way into the UK charts on the 10th January 2010 straight in at #2!
An accomplished producer, Sidney has DJ'd since he was 14 years old & also has his own record label Rock The Houze.

Exclusive chat with Sidney!

I have been lucky enough to grab a few minutes of Sidney's time to answer some questions, and I also manage to get an exclusive out of Sidney just for my blog!...so here we go :-

• What would a placement in the Top 100 DJ poll mean to you?

SS: A lot of people, especially in the US, ask me why I'm not in the DJ Mag already and to be honest I don't know. They must forget about me when they vote! No, seriously, I would be very pleased to be in the top 100 DJ poll but the most important thing for me is performing all over the world and being able to see all my fans and trying to satisfy them with my music.

• Can the UK expect to see more of Sidney Samson in the future?

SS: Yess, of course. I made a lot of new tracks, like "Tomahawk", which will be released this month and a brand new collabo with Lil Jon, called "Mutate". That one will be released next month on my own label RockThe Houze.

• Where is your favourite venue to play in the UK?

SS: My favorite venue in the UK is "The Mission" in Leeds. I played there once and the crowd was going crazy. I really really enjoyed playing there.

• And finally....just 'Where is Sidney Samson' right now??

SS: I am everywhere. I am very lucky to say that I am playing all over the world. My Asia and USA tour starts in two weeks, so I'll be in that part of the world. And about the exclusive, I made a huge Smash with Will I Am, it will be out later this year.

A massive thanks to Sidney for that little exclusive! Glad that you will continue playing, & enjoy playing in the UK...I had the honour of hearing you live in March at Cream, Liverpool ( see pic below ) & must say you rocked the place!

DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll 2011

Its that time of the year again when we get to vote for our favourite DJs!

This is when we can give back to those that have made our life happier with their amazing productions & live sets. Those that have put a spring into our step via our MP3s, making our mornings more enjoyable....made our nights out fookin fantastic!

So who will you vote for??

Here are some names that spring to mind when thinking of outstanding contributions ( in my opinion ) made to music over the years, whether its been for their consistency for chucking out hit after mind blowing hit...or one epic fucking track that has knocked you for six, here are my contenders....Laidback Luke, Paul Oakenfold, Swedish House Mafia, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Patric La Funk, D Ramirez, Matt Darey, Nicky Romero, Mitch Crown, Funkerman, Carl Cox, Kim Fai, Mark Doyle, R3hab, Afrojack, Sidney Samson, Armand Van Helden, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, Martin Solveig, Benny Benassi, Sasha, John Digweed, John O'Callaghan, Chuckie, Avicci, Daft Punk, Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Marco V, Wolfgang Gartner, Fat Boy Slim, Calvin Harris, The House Moguls.

But here is my number one....and here are just 3 reasons why think he should be crowned no1 this year :-

Fedde Le Grand
